According to Le Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with English superstar David Beckham.
In an interview with the BBC earlier this month, director of football Leonardo hinted at the possibility of luring football’s biggest brand to the club by saying; “the door is open”.
Apparently, Leo first sought direct contact with the 36-year-old last month to offer him the chance to join the Parisians in January.
A close source to Beckham said:
“This was their first contact. Leonardo wanted to know the intentions of David and his career.”
Apparently, according to the same source, Beckham was deeply flattered that his former Coach at Milan would offer him the opportunity to play in Ligue 1. However, he did state that he needs to assess his options, with the sporting challenge being decisive in a decision.
He will be out of contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy on November 20th and has yet to take a decision on whether or not to end his playing days in the MLS.
At this stage only an informal discussion has taken place with the former England captain and no talk of money has yet been mooted. The owners Qatar Sports Investments must travel to the US to meet Beckham and his entourage if they are serious on a deal.
With his wife (Victoria) being a fashion connoisseur, who knows, that could play a significant role in them making the move to the fashion capital of the world and the Parc des Princes.
