David Beckham has given the biggest indication yet that he may consider a move to the French capital to reunite with former Coach Leonardo at Paris Saint-Germain.
Leonardo now working as director of football at PSG, stated last month that he wanted to bring Beckham to the Parc des Princes with his contract in the United States coming to an end.
Beckham was coached by the Brazilian during his second loan spell at Milan in 2010 – having been acquainted a year prior – and formed a close bond with one another.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the former England captain admitted that he is flattered to be linked with the club but will assess his options at the end of the MLS season:
“‘I love Leonardo. I had a good relationship when I was at Milan the first time and then obviously when he was manager the second time.”
“He’s a great manager, a great person. I’m flattered that he wants me to go and join the team in Paris.
“‘I think there are big things happening in France at a number of clubs. It’s an exciting time. Leonardo going there and the money that’s at the club. It’s an interesting club.
“We’ll see. I’ve always said I’ll wait till the end of the season and see how I feel physically and then decide. There’s no rush for myself.
“Obviously it’s important that I concentrate on the rest of the season. We’re in the playoffs and we’ve got two games left. I’ll concentrate on the season and then worry about that after.”
1970 PSG will certainly be keeping a close eye on any further developments.
