Blaise Matuidi’s injury against Lyon on Sunday is worst than first feared.
Paris Saint-Germain’s midfield general limped off in the 2-0 win against Lyon on Sunday and as a result had to pull out of the French squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers.
The 24-year-old has injured the posterior muscle in his left thigh and is due for an MRI scan sometime next week.
It is unclear to gain an exact estimate for how long he will be out but the club speculates around three to six weeks – more than likley the latter.
It is a huge blow for a player who has been a revelation for the club thus far.
