Paris Saint-Germain captain Mamadou Sakho played 90 minutes for the PSG reserves yesterday in a 2-1 defeat to Auxerre.
The skipper has been out for nearly two months and is making ground on his return to competitive action for the Ligue 1 leaders.
Playing alongside Loick Landre in the heart of the defence at Camp des Loges, he appeared sharp and mobile without any complications.
Coach Antoine Koumbare was watching on from the sidelines and will be encouraged to include his defensive talisman in the squad for next week’s trip to Ajaccio.
“I’ve waited eight weeks for the wound to heal well.” said Sakho after the game.
“I thought that physically it would be more complicated but I finally felt well, even if at the end of the game I had heavy legs.”
With his Coach being a curious spectator, Sakho had a simple message for him in regards to inclusion next week:
“I feel ready!” he stated.
Great news for the Parisians!
