French World Cup winner Youri Djorkaeff has lavished praise on Paris Saint-Germain’s Javier Pastore.
Djorkaeff, who spent a season at the Parc des Princes in 1995/96, has been surprised as to how comprehensively the Argentine has dealt with his hefty price tag and performed so majestically on the pitch.
Speaking to France Football, he said:
“I am surprised by his performance because he had a lot of pressure due to the cost of the transfer. In addition, he is young and coming into a team under construction.”
The 43-year-old continued by saying that he has ‘phenomenal potential’ and can become even better:
“This is an exceptional player, so elegant. He has the proud bearing that does not prevent him from being simple in his actions. He is quick and direct. He points out his opponent and dribbles all at once.”
“He really has phenomenal potential.”
