Transfer News: Benatia Deal Agreed?

France Football reports that a deal for Udinese centre-back Mehdi Benatia is close to being agreed by Paris Saint-Germain.

Although nothing has been deemed conclusive in terms of a deal by any official party, it is no secret that the Parisians are in search for the Moroccan’s signature – having courted him back in the summer.

A fee of around €15m is being mooted and he could arrive in January. However, due to his participation in Europe with the Italians, he will not be eligible to play in the Europa League for PSG.

If he does sign for the club, he will be returning back to the city where he was born. Despite now playing for the Moroccan national team, he previously represented the French U-18’s.

  1. How many centre-backs do we need? Bisevac, Sakho, Lugano, Camara, Armand? His stats are certainly impressive though and as PSG are trying to attract greater interest in the club from a North African audience, I see where they are going with this. Plus Lugano is so far not exactly a massive success.
