Carlo Ancelotti, many of whom thought was prime and ready to replace – unfairly judging by results – Antoine Kombouare as Paris Saint-Germain’s Coach, has ruled himself out.
The out of work Italian had a meeting with director of football Leonardo last week, along with President Nasser Al-Khelaifi regarding the possibility.
However, Ancelotti has ultimately killed off such talk in an interview with Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport. He has revealed his desire to remain in the Premier League having been dismissed by Chelsea last season.
“Me to Paris Saint-Germain? I want to stay in England.” He told the newspaper.
“It’s normal that around my name there is speculation, but there is nothing in it.
“I still believe the Premier League is the most beautiful league. It’s compelling because there are four of five teams that are fighting for the title.”
Will that be the end of the matter though? It is evident that current Coach Antoine Kombouare will have to make do with continuous questioning regarding his position.
