Kombouare’s Thoughts On Auxerre Win

Forget all the talk of Rafael Benitez for the timebeing, current Coach Antoine Kombouare gave his assessment on Paris Saint Germain’s 3-2 win over AJ Auxerre at the Parc desPrinces.

Speaking to the club’s Offical Site, he said; “It’s hugely satisfying because we had to win at all costs to break that negative spiral we were in.”

“The aim was clear, produce a big performance, but above all, get the three points to get back on track in the league and get our confidence back. There were plenty of positives to take from the game. We saw the players really role their sleeves up, play good football and score goals.

“We’re not entirely out of the woods yet, but this was a gutsy win that really pleased me. We deserved this win, we dug deep to get it. My players’ attitude was irreproachable, especially in the second half. The players showed a lot of character, great mental strength and didn’t give in to self doubt.

“This win is full of promise, and I hope it’s the start of a new run of good results.”
