Kombouare Given €4m Compensation

Antoine Kombouare has been given €4m compensation by Paris Saint-Germain for his dismissal.

The former Coach released a statement to AFP thanking people for the support he has been given, but leaves with a sense of unfinished business:

“I thank everyone who supported me in recent days. It touched me deeply. I leave Paris Saint-Germain with a sense of unfinished business but with the feeling of having given everything. Having played as a player and winning trophies, having been proud to be the coach for two and a half years, including winning the Coupe de France, I am proud to have left the club on the road success with this honorary title of champion of the fall. I want the club to be successful in this new project. I will remain the No. 1 supporter of Paris Saint-Germain. “

Beckham Deal In Doubt

Leonardo dropped a bombshell in Carlo Ancelotti’s unveiling yesterday, claiming the deal to bring in David Beckham may not happen.

It seemed a foregone conclusion that the former England skipper would make the move across the Atlantic, swapping Los Angeles for the French capital. Now, it appears that he may sign a contract extension to remain in Major League Soccer, snubbing overtures from PSG. It is believed the welfare of his family is influencing his decision.

Leonardo said yesterday; “He is in L.A, he has his family over there. We have talked a lot and we are still talking, but I’m not sure it will be done.”

“We have a very good rapport with David Beckham, but we never said it was a done deal. We have studied it and we are studying it. It’s always been a question of personal matters.”

Until anything is finalised, Beckham’s future is still orbiting in the air and may end up in a Parisian shirt before we know it.
