Carlo Ancelotti’s first game in charge of PSG ended in defeat to AC Milan yesterday thanks to a goal – ironically – from Alexandre Pato who has been linked with a move to the club.
He netted the only goal of the game in the first five minutes in a match which the new PSG tactician adopted his infamous Christmas tree formation (4-3-2-1).
Kevin Gameiro, Jeremy Menez and Blaise Matuidi all missed the game but the Italian lined up his team as follows; Sirigu – Ceara, Bisevac, Sakho, Tiene – Jallet, Bodmer, Sissoko- Pastore, Nene – Hoarau.
Ancelotti was getting a feel for his squad and rung some changes at half-time, such as introducing the likes of Diego Lugano and Nicolas Douchez to the fray.
In front of just under 11,000 spectators at the Al-Rashid stadium, it was a nice workout – despite being on the wrong of a result – to prepare for the weekends Coupe de France clash with Saint-Colomban Locmine.
Despite the loss, Ancelotti revealed his satisfaction after the game at the display in general. Speaking to the club’s Official Site, he said; “We had a good match. I am happy because we produced a beautiful game, and therefore I retain this positive aspect. We were opposed to a big team in Milan. I was excited at the thought of facing my old club and it was special for me to begin my adventure with PSG against Milan. We achieved a good performance, I am satisfied despite the defeat. “
