Coach Carlo Ancelotti has announced his team for tonight’s meeting with fifth-tier minnows Sable in the Coupe de France.
The Italian told reporters in his pre-match presser that he will not be making wholesale changes to his line-up with Javier Pastore and Nene keeping their places along with Kevin Gameiro being welcomed back in attack. Diego Lugano will be missing however after nursing a knee injury all week.
Team for tonight; Sirigu – Ceara, Camara, Sakho, Maxwell, Sissoko, Chantome, Menez, Pastore, Nene, Gameiro.
The Italian believes Sable will be a tough obstacle. When asked what type of match he is expecting he said; “A pretty similar game to our first Cup match this season against Locmine. I have watched a bit of our opponents to prepare for this match during the week. It will be a tough game against a team that will give it everything to cause an upset.”
He then went on to praise the attitude of his players in the build-up to the game; “We’ve been working on the intensity in the week’s training and I’ve been pleased by the players attitude. They have the right attitude in training: they work hard and in good humour. They enjoy it and that’s important. On Tuesday we trained on the artificial pitch because of the ice and yesterday we worked tactically and everyone was focused – it was good.”
