Paris Saint-Germain skipper Mamadou Sakho revealed that Carlo Ancelotti’s half-time team talk gave the team motivation to come from behind and beat Evian 3-1 last night at the Parc des Princes.
Speaking to reporters after the game, the Frenchman said; “It’s a great win, and very tough in freezing conditions against a very tough opponent. When we were trailing 1-0, we didn’t panic. The coach found the right words at half time to motivate us and get us moving forward again. We had to fight back in front of our supporters. We showed plenty of character and that’s great”.
As for the Coach, he was delighted with the character of his players to come from behind and hopes the good form can continue; “It was a very tough game. We weren’t ruthless enough in the first half. We fought back well, even if Evian still caused us a few problems after Nene equalised. It was very important to get all three points tonight. We have made a good start to the second half of the season and we need to keep playing well and keep winning”.
