The most lucrative transfer in the history of Paris Saint-Germain and French football as a whole is signed and sealed. Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has completed his move to the club from AC Milan, joining his former teammate Thiago Silva at the French capital.
Director of football Leonardo confirmed the news by saying; “We have reached an agreement with Ibrahimovic and his agent. This is a great year for Paris Saint-Germain. A player of this calibre coming to Paris, it’s huge. This is a player who can change everything.”
Zlatan will undergo a medical tomorrow before his unveiling at a press conference scheduled for 2pm (GMT) at the Parc des Princes. Leonardo will be in attendance as per and will be joined by club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
His agent, Mino Raiola, commented on the deal by saying; “Zlatan is very excited. It’s not a player you can force to do what he does not want. He is very excited to meet this challenge. PSG, was his first choice.”
Details of the player’s contract have yet to be defined but it is believed to be for three years with an annual salary of around €12.5m – making him the highest paid player in France by an astronomical distance.
