PSG’s dealings in the transfer window appeared to be over after Carlo Ancelotti stated on the eve of the Barcelona game that there would be no more additions. However, if reports in Brazil are to be true then Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura could be on the cusp of a mega money move to the French capital.
The 19-year-old is highly regarded as one of Selecao’s most promising prospects having broken into the first-team and is currently playing an integral role in their Olympic squad along with Thiago Silva. His club Sao Paulo have admitted that there is a stern interest from some of Europe’s heavyweights including Manchester United. The Red Devils were believed to be in pole position for his signature after weeks of negotiations with the Soberano but according to sources in Brazil, Les Parisiens are now primed to land the midfielder.
Globoesporte reported yesterday that talks between both clubs are at an advanced stage regarding a transfer that would possibly exceed €40m. If this does come to fruition, then Lucas would arrive in the January transfer window after the Brazilian domestic season concludes. He would pen a five-year deal and they believe the player is keen on the idea of moving to France. Also, it must be noted that Manchester United are not prepared to offer a straight-cash deal which is deterring their hopes of landing him with PSG ready to pay in bulk.
If this deal is signed and sealed, then it seriously begs the question over Nene’s future. It occurred yesterday that he left the Parc des Princes at half-time during the friendly with Barcelona on Saturday after being substituted (source Les Parisien). It is yet another scenario that may lead to a possible departure as he awaits the offer of a new contract, which at the moment does not seem forthcoming.
