One centre-back departed today and another arrived as record signing Thiago Silva finally arrived at Camp des Loges after concluding his Olympic adventure with Brazil.
Silva was all smiles upon his arrival where he met Coach Carlo Ancelotti as well as his new teammates. Although he did not participate in any training, he was able to get a feel for his new place of work, chatting with the coaches along with his compatriot Maxwell.
He will undergo his first session tomorrow morning but it is highly doubtful that he will be in the frame to play away to Ajaccio on Sunday. Ancelotti has yet to confirm or deny this.
With Silva arriving, Bisevac departed as he completed his move to Olympique Lyonnais for €2.2m, signing a four-year deal. The Serbian was arguably the club’s best centre-back last season and everyone affiliated with the club will wish him all the best. He endeared himself to the supporters with whom the vast majority are disappointed to see him depart.
Anthony Réveillère was supposed to arrive from the opposite direction but the 32-year-old failed his medical earlier today resulting in the collapse of his transfer. Nevertheless, PSG allowed Lyon to rubberstamp the signing of Bisevac regardless.
