Lucas Moura has well and truly got his feet under the table after a successful past few days in Qatar after linking up with his new peers at the beginning of the week.
Saying all the right things during his unveiling at the Doha’s Museum of Islamic Art on Tuesday, he has made a real impression for such a young man with a hefty price tag on his shoulders.
Nevertheless, it does not seem to deter his aspirations of becoming one of the game’s future stars.
Lucas; “Every Brazilian player has this dream and so it’s the same for me. I’ll be playing against big clubs and great players. I’ll fight really hard to achieve the objective of being the number one! Great players like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho are my idols. I know that Brazilian players have played a big part in the history of this club and I hope to do the same. I’ve spoken a lot with Rai. He advised me to concentrate on my football and to learn French as quickly as possible….My goal is to help the team win titles. This team is competitive and I think there is a lot of success on the cards for us. But I’m always thinking about the Brazil national team as well as becoming the best player in the world. I never think about losing when I take the field. I’m not scared of anyone and I always give my all to honour the shirt I’m wearing.”
He has certainly got the backing of the talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic who said; “He’s a great player and will definitely help us for the future. I hope he will adapt quickly and show all his qualities so we can win trophies together.
He made his unofficial debut against Qatar side Lekhwiya where Les Parisiens ran out 5-1 victors on Wednesday. A brace from Ezequiel Lavezzi were accompanied by strikes from Jeremy Menez, Nene, and Kevin Gameiro.
