I am back guys. What a wonderful trip in the United States going from the East to the West Coast in 10 fantastic days. If you were not aware why 1970 PSG has been so quiet with activity as of late, that is the reason why.
A lot has happened since I have been gone it seems. Two fantastic back to back results against Guingamp and Bordeaux last night to send us top. Mamadou Sakho’s inevitable departure to England finally occurred, Lucas Digne made his long awaited debut, Lucas Moura bagged his first goal and Jeremy Menez is etching in on a return from injury.
It seems as if Laurent Blanc is getting things just about right despite the doubts from some quarters in the Parisien public and media alike upon his arrival. Nevertheless, with such little preparation for the game in Bordeaux last night due to the international break, you have to give the man so much credit. With Edinson Cavani feeling jaded from his international commitments in South America, Hervin Ongenda was brought in emphasising the opportunities Blanc is giving to the youth.
Also, with the Champions League returning next week with a difficult trip to Greece against Olympiakos, it was imperative that Blanc utilised his personnel cleverly. The games are coming thick and fast so the early signs of how the squad is being utilised by the coach is promising.
So with us sitting at the top of Ligue 1 it is nice to see upon my return. Let us hope this good form continues as we can look forward to another spine-tingling night in Europe on Tuesday.
It is good to be back!
