Hey guys! In case you were wondering why the website has been quiet in the past week, I have been on holiday in Mexico. Of course having tequila every night made it difficult to keep the Twitter feed up to date but some of the guys on there have been sending me news which is much appreciated.

Two good results whilst I was away. We got the job done – although it practically was – against Bayer Leverkusen last week in the Champions League. And then we followed that up with a solid 2-0 win over Saint-Etienne to keep that expansive lead at the top of Ligue 1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic  was again on form to put himself at the top of the European goal-scoring charts with a staggering 40 goals – 25 being in the league. That puts him just one ahead of Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo who has 39 goals in all competitions.

Another record broken was broken as this was the first time since 1995 that the club had won seven consecutive games on the trot. Coach Laurent Blanc was thrilled afterwards with yet another victory. He told the club’s Official Site: “All victories are important. We aim to win every single home match so it’s mission accomplished this evening. We had three matches in the last seven days, which is not easy to manage and we recorded three wins over Bastia, Bayer Leverkusen and now Saint-Etienne, another quality opponent, technically very good and courageous. Winning 2-0 this evening is an excellent thing and a great way to cap off a very good week.”

Young Hervin Ongenda signed a new 12-month extension and goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez ended doubts over his future by signing till 2015.

So it has been a decent week since I have been away. We are just being spoilt with this feel good factor at the moment. Long may it continue!
