Chelsea & Jose Mourinho Stand In Paris Saint-Germain’s Way Of The Last-Four

Chelsea and Jose Mourinho Face PSG In The Champions League

I said before the draw that I felt an English club would be pulled out of the hat, just merely because we have yet to encounter one in recent times and that prophecy rang true. Chelsea Football Club was pulled out of the pot by Champions League Final ambassador Luis Figo to set-up an intriguing battle from the beginning of April.

The 2012 European champions will make the visit to Paris in the first-leg before we travel to London where hopefully we can seal a place in the last-four. It will be so delicately poised as we are coming up against a club that has so much European know-how. Not only that, they have the master of tactical battles in Jose Mourinho who will be more than wary of our intent going into the clashes.

At this point of the draw, whoever you get is going to be a test. But to avoid Bayern Munich and Real Madrid is no devastation. We have a real opportunity to go for the jugular and do something we have not done in nearly 20-years, book a place in the last-four.

We will be up against the league leaders of England, a European heavyweight with a host of star names. Particularly Eden Hazard who dazzled Ligue 1 followers during his time with Lille.

The last time we met The Blues in the competition was 10 years ago in the group-stage, with Mourinho in charge. They battered us at the Parc 3-0 thanks to a John Terry goal and Didier Drogba brace. And then we went back to the Bridge and fought out a 0-0 stalemate.

First-leg will be played on the 1st/2nd April with the return-leg in London on 8th/9th March.
