It has been dubbed as quite possibly the strongest group of the UEFA Champions League draw. It is a group of champions from France, Spain, the Netherlands and Cyprus. And a group containing historical clubs and famous names which we are so proud to be apart of.

APOEL Nicosia, Ajax and FC Barcelona will be coming to the Parc des Princes this autumn/winter. There will be reunions galore, particularly for those that used to play at the Amsterdam Arena in Gregory Van der Wiel, Maxwell and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ibra as well as his good buddy Maxwell will also be reacquainting in Catalonia where they spent time during their careers.

Plus, it gives us another opportunity to play against one of the world’s greatest clubs. Barcelona knocked us out of the quarter-final stage in 2013 over two-legs on away goals. Who can forget Blaise Matuidi’s last gasp equaliser at the Parc des Princes in the 1st-leg? And the admirable display we put on at the Camp Nou where we were the better team? I am not being bias, it is the truth. Unfortunately however an unfit Lionel Messi still had the capabilities to knock us out with a goal to draw FCB level on aggregate, thus sending them through on away goals. Nevertheless, it was a magical experience and one which really drew the world’s attention to Paris as a football team.

  1. Some great matches for us all to look forward to! I think that PSG will qualify as runners-up in all honesty. You never know though, Barcelona haven’t been their usual selves as of late and PSG might be able to get the win at home!

Good blog, I am following you. Feel free to check my blog out and follow back. Thanks 🙂
