PSG will finish off 2014 with a mid-season friendly against Italian giants Internazionale later this evening. This will round off the short winter tour of Marrakech with the squad traveling back to Paris just in time for the New Year celebrations.
The tour may have been brief, but coach Laurent Blanc was extremely complimentary to Morocco and the facilities the club have been treated to. Speaking on Sunday LB said; “I love this country. The weather is excellent for training, the temperatures during the day are perfect for training. And it’s cool enough in the evening for everyone to recover well. The conditions are excellent! We have come here to train and enjoy better weather than there is currently in France. We can’t really talk about a real preseason or preparation as such. But what I do like about this type of training camp is the fact that we are all here together. The times when you can work with a full-strength squad are actually quite rare”.
Blaise Matuidi also echoed those sentiments; “We need to work well and the match against Inter will help us get back in rhythm before we head back to France. It should be a great match of football and we will do what we can to win, even if the main thing is to work hard and play well. It will be an extra training session”.
The match with the Nerazzurri is a good chance to get some match fitness back ahead of game against Montpellier this forthcoming Monday. As for the Italians they are currently sat in 11th in Serie A but with a new coach in Roberto Mancini, they will be looking to climb the table in 2015 with an eye on one of the European places.
