Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani returned to training at Camp des Loges yesterday afternoon after arriving back at Charles de Gaulle airport at midday. The two men who performed a disappearing act whilst the rest of the squad were on the winter tour of Morocco, arrived back at the training ground – as Le Parisien put it – as if nothing had happened.

The two men underwent some personal training before their meeting with coach Laurent Blanc and sporting director Olivier Letang. According to Le Parisien both players failed to convince the two men for their reason of absence and did not find them plausible. Apparently both men said they wanted to spend more time with their children over the Christmas holiday. Blanc and Letang have not bought it!

The local paper also ran a poll on site asking fans if they think the players should punished. An overwhelming 90% said yes. Well, the good news for them is that this will indeed happen. They will be fined for their absence and may also be left out of the squad for a couple of games. There is no clarification on this but the club will be sure to make a public stance on this soon.
