Yohan Cabaye has completed his move to Crystal Palace by signing a three-year deal.
The 29-year-old has moved for an undisclosed fee (believed to be around a club record £13m) and will link up with his former manager Alan Pardew.
This has been in the pipeline for the last few days and it was only a formality after the two clubs agreed a fee. He underwent a medical yesterday before an official announcement occurred at 9am this morning on Palace’s official website.
Cabaye told the official CPFC website: “I’m happy to be here. I’ve been waiting for the decision, had the medical and now I can’t wait to focus on my new team, a new season and my new life. I wanted to come and play for Palace because there are some really strong players here. They finished very well last season and I think they can compete to get into the top eight. I also know the gaffer and have worked with him before and I’m confident with him. I want to do my best for him because he’s made a big effort to get me to come here, as well as the Chairman, so I have to say a big thank you to both of them”.
It is a good thing for PSG in terms of abiding to FFP sensibly. The additional money from the transfer will aid towards recruitment along with Yohan being off the wage bill.
