Paris Saint-Germain started their pre-season in winning fashion with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Vienna’s Wiener to end the Austrian tour.
Kevin Trapp made his debut for the club in what was a quiet afternoon for the German. Regardless, he was happy to get his first game done and dusted. He told the club’s official site; “It was a pretty easy match, including for me. It was important to win our first match like this with a good score. I have received a great welcome and everyone has been very nice to me. It’s a good squad. I’ve had a great week and my first impressions are very good indeed”.
Goals from Serge Aurier and a brace from youngster Jean-Kevin Augustin sealed the win. The latter opened the scoring with an easy tap in via a lovely ball played in from the left by Lucas Digne. And the two were involved again for the second as Digne assisted the number 33 to rifle home a belter from distance. Lucas Moura was sprite throughout the 68 minutes he played and was instrumental in that goal.
Then Aurier made it 3-0 just after the break with a headed goal with Digne completing a hat-trick of assists.
It was good to kick off the pre-season games with a win (as expected) and some positives to take. 18-year-old Augustin showed his promise with the performance as did the other Parisian youngsters. Digne being heavily involved with the play will do his confidence good after speculation over his future.
The squad now fly off to the United States for the International Champions Cup.
