Today marks the start of a triple-header with Toulouse who will we meet thrice in the next four games. The midweek win over Lyon in the Coupe de la Ligue resulted in us being drawn out of the hat with TFC in the final four. Le Tef will play hosts tonight before making the trip to the capital for the round of 16 in the Coupe de France on Tuesday. History is on our side though, unbeaten in the last 13 meeting with the relegation strugglers.

But, their form since mid-December has been as good as anyone. They still sit in the bottom three but are unbeaten in their last six in all competitions, including an penalty extra-time win over Marseille during the week to set up the semi final meeting with ourselves in the League Cup.

Prior to that they racked up two important back to back wins against high flying Nice and fellow strugglers Troyes before Lorient derailed them 3-2 at the Stadium Municipal.

Wissam Ben Yedder, a player that was always seemed to be destined for big things and has been on absolute fire and integral to the upturn in form. The 25-year-old has bagged eight goals in his last five outings, including a hat-trick against Stade de Reims.

Coach Laurent Blanc is not taking today’s opponents lightly and is fully aware of the form of Ben Yedder. In yesterdays pre-match presser he said; “Toulouse are always a difficult opponent for us, especially when we play at the Stadium. They have been through some rough times this season, but are coming back strongly thanks in part to their attacker Wissam Ben Yedder. They deserve all our respect and we will do everything we can to claim all three points from this match.”

David Luiz and Marquinhos will continue at centre-back as Thiago Silva recovers from a slight ligament injury. Both played in the win over Lyon and the gaffer was high in his praise for the two. LB; “Marquinhos and David Luiz play very well together. What pleases me is that up until now, despite when players have been missing, our central defence has always played well. It is a crucial factor in getting results and having a good season.”

Angel di Maria unfortunately is out having picked up a foot injury against Lyon. He has missed training in the last two days but should be in contention for Tuesday.
