After four years at the club, Ezequiel Lavezzi is on his way to China in a lucrative big money move. He will be plying his trade for Hebei China Fortune and the name is appropriate for what he will be earning – approximately £23.5m for two years.
His time in Paris had been hit and miss. I ran a poll on Twitter asking fans how they judged his time at the club. Here were the results:
He was a success: 13%
And the final outcome is about right. He has done a job for PSG but hardly pulled up any trees. His infectious character is what will be largely remembered rather than his exploits on the pitch.
I wish him all the success on his new adventure and he will always be welcomed by 1970 PSG for his post on Instagram back in the spring of 2013 after we captured the Ligue 1 title in Lyon.
In the midst of all the celebrations and whilst digesting the news, I received an abundance of tweets from my followers. Lavezzi had posted a picture minutes after the title was wrapped up of the-then 1970 PSG logo in which he was the predominant figure.
It was safe to say that he made that night doubly special for me!
Best of luck Pocho!
